Our client, a vibrant, well-established Civil and Structural Design Consultancy, is actively seeking a Structural Engineer to join a friendly, expert team of Structural Engineers in Leeds.
Working on a host of interesting building structures ventures across Residential, Commercial, Marine and Industrial sectors you will work on projects from inception through to completion stage.

Experience with the following would be highly desirable:
- Providing high quality concept, preliminary and detailed technical design on projects requiring highway and drainage design.
- Carrying out a range of drainage calculations, including QBar, attenuation storage, soakaway sizing, foul loads, pipeline capacities and network analysis for a range of drainage applications.
- Carrying out a range of adoptable and non-adoptable highway, driveway carparking and footpath structural pavement designs for a range of permeable and non-permeable surfaces.
- Preparing Developer Enquiries, Environment Agency product requests and LLFA information requests, relating to drainage designs, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.
- Preparing S104, S106 and S185 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Drainage Authority and Planning Authority.
- Preparing S184, S278 and S38 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Highway Authority.
- Report writing, e.g. Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategy Reports etc.
- Management of sustainability criteria
- Complying with designers’ duties under the CDM Regulations
Structural Engineer Responsibilities:
- The team are currently engaged in large regeneration schemes predominately constructed from reinforced concrete, smaller residential schemes using traditional building techniques and a variety of commercial, educational and maritime projects utilising a range of different materials and construction techniques.
- Undertake detailed structural engineering design on retail / commercial projects.
- Prepare technical schedules, reports and designs at a variety of project work stages.
- Represent the company at meetings with clients, suppliers and other 3rd parties
- Ensure an excellent level of service is delivered consistently, design decisions are met, and project work is carried out within the agreed
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of structural design using a variety of building materials including traditional build, steel frame, reinforced concrete and timber frames, ideally working with significant structures. deadlines and budgets
- Proficient in Tekla or alternative building modelling software

The ideal Senior Civil Engineer will have proven experience creating and sustaining long lasting client relationships and be able to lead Civil Engineering projects across a range of sectors.
Responsibilities include; creating structural drawings, models and details, adhering to BIM standards, importing information from various software packages, Projects are both new build and refurb and come from a variety of backgrounds including; Grand designs, Healthcare, pharmaceutical and residential
The ideal Senior Structural Engineer will have experience working on small jobs with contract values ranging from £50,000 to £4,000,000. They will be confident in working with the main structural materials i.e. concrete, steel, masonry and timber, numerically literate and analytical and have an attention for detail while taking professional pride in the quality and delivery of their work. Time management and organisational skills are vital.
