Senior Town Planner

Our client is a busy, commercially proficient, creative, and forward-thinking planning consultancy, who are looking for a Senior Planner to join their team in Sheffield. The company are close to embarking on a new journey of business development working alongside a nationally renowned environmental, and engineering company which is going to help them to grow and develop their Planning offer.
As a Senior Town Planner, you will be working on projects across a mix of sectors in a range of environments including urban and rural for clients within the public and private sectors.
Our client has a small but experienced team of planners, and as a Senior Town Planner you will be providing the following services to your clients:
- Undertaking community engagement
- Undertaking research and analysis and providing baseline advice
- Preparing parameters plans
- Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications
- Running planning appeals (including preparing expert witness statements)
- Promoting sites
- Engaging with the Development Plan Consultation process – preparing representations, attending EIPs etc
Qualifications & Experience Required
- An RTPI-accredited degree or Masters in a related discipline
- Chartered membership of the RTPI
- Full driving licence
- Commensurate experience at Senior Town Planner level
- A thorough understanding of the UK planning system
- Experience of development management
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Solid report writing skills
- Ability to liaise with clients successfully
- Ability to work to deadlines with good time management skills
- The ability to mentor and support more junior members of staff
Salary / Benefits
- Competitive starting salary of £35,000 - £45,000pa , a four-day working week as standard, a benefits package (including healthcare and the payment of professional fees), a varied workload and access to an experienced leadership team for support and progression.
